Lance Huthwaite, DMD
Dr. Lance Huthwaite has been practicing dentistry in Gainesville since 1994. He is a graduate of Wake Forest University and the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry. Dr. Huthwaite enjoys receiving many hours of continuing education each year. This allows him to provide his patients with the newest procedures and latest technology in an effort to create the most comfortable dental experience possible. Much of this training occurs at the Center for Advanced Dental Studies and the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry.
Dr. Huthwaite is a member of the Northern District Dental Society, the Georgia Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and the Hinman Dental Society. He is also a proud member of the American Academy of Facial Esthetics and is ceritifed in the administration of Botox for the treatment of TMJ pain, bruxism, and migraine headaches as well asthe use of Botox and dermal fillers for cosmetic purposes.
In his free time Dr. Huthwaite enjoys cooking, photography, music, winemaking, and golf. He and his wife Vivian are blessed to be raising three wonderful girls - Addie, Lexi, and Cosette.
Amy Huthwaite, DMD
Dr. Amy, CFO and co-owner of Huthwaite Family Dentistry, graduated from Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry in 1994. She was inspired to become a dentist when her mother was diagnosed with oral cancer during Amy's first year of college. She took time off from college to help care for her mother during the grueling months of surgeries and radiation treatments. Although the prognosis was not good, her mother survived. Twenty years later, Dr. Amy is proud to have her mom as a true success story: cancer free with a beautiful smile! Dr. Amy pledges to treat each and every patient as she would want herself or a member of her family to be treated.
Dr. Amy is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Georgia Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Academy of Laser Dentistry, the Hinman Dental Society, and the Northern District Dental Society. She volunteers regularly at the Green Warren Dental Clinic associated with Good News at Noon. She has been a member of the Gainesville Kiwanis Club for which she has chaired several committees and has served four years as board member. Dr. Amy also served on the Board of Trustees of Brenau University.
Originally from Wilmington, N.C., Dr. Amy now lives in Dawsonville, Ga. with her two daughters, Addison and Cosette. She also has a dog named Elmo and cats Elvis and Sesame. Dr. Amy is an avid reader and enjoys cooking, sewing, camping, and jogging. Her favorite thing to do however is to spend time spoiling her daughters with love and laughter!
Lori Fortner, RDH
Lori has been with the practice for thirty years. A native of Cleveland, Georgia, she is a 1979 graduate of White County High School ("Go Warriors"). She received her Associate of Arts Degree in Dental Hygiene from Clayton State College in Morrow, Georgia in 1981 where she served as Dental Hygiene Class President.
She and her husband, Tommy who is an electrical contractor, have been married since 1993. They currently reside in Cleveland, Georgia along with their 13 year old son, Cade, a student at White County Middle School. All three are very involved at Mt. View Baptist Church in Cleveland. Bluegrass music and baseball keep them on the road. When they can find some down time they love to go camping, "but not tent camping"' Lori says. She loves her fifth wheel.
Lori is frequently asked how she has managed to stay at one office for so long. Her answer is simply, "the patients". Many have watched her grow up and are like and extended family. "We laugh, compare stories and photos, and sometimes even cry together, but they always leave with a happy, healthy smile".
Marcie King, RDH
Marcie graduated from Gainesville State College and Lanier Technical College in 2004 and joined the Huthwaite practice that same year. Prior to her dental hygiene education she worked as a dental assistant for six years. She and her husband, Jason, live in Banks County and just recently celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary. While they have no children yet, Marcie and Jason enjoy raising their five dogs: Copper, a 13 year old miniature dachshund - Autumn, an 11 year old yellow lab mix - April, a twelve year old springer spaniel - Molly, a six year old black lab mix - Carto, a ten year old retired police dog. As if this weren't enough to feed and care for, a small backyard chicken farm keeps them well stocked with eggs. Marcie also enjoys gardening and other outdoor activities.
Martha Seavers, RDH
Martha joined the Huthwaite practice one year ago but has been praticing dental hygiene for 33 years and is still loving it! In 2010 she relocated to North Georgia from Illinois. Most of her growing years were spent around Cleveland, Ohio. Martha's sons, Mark (23), Peter (19) , and Michael (19), are the love of her life. Her best buddies are her two dogs - Annie and Stella. When at home she enjoys relaxing by the lake and riding her jet ski. She is very thankful to be living in the South!
Michelle Glaze-Bailey, Dental Coordinator
Michelle is originally from Gainesville, Georgia but now resides in Lawrenceville. She has over 25 years of experience in the dental field - 19 of which were spent serving as a dental assistant to Dr. Jeff Carstens prior to joining the Huthwaite practice in 2004. Michelle graduated from Gainesville High School in 1983, and received her training as a certified dental assistant from Lanier Technical Institute in 1984. Her daughter, Amber, is a recent graduate of Albany State and her stepson, Dezmond, attends Flowery Branch Elementary. Michelle is married to Jerramie, a barber and aspiring music artist. In her free time she enjoys walking her dog, Mojo, shopping, and exercising. She really enjoys working with the public and says her favorite quote is "Never lose sight of the fact that the most important yardstick of your success will be how you treat other people - your family, friends, and co-workers and even strangers you meet along the way.
Jenny Peck, Dental Assistant
Jenny is a resident of Hall County. She has been married to Shane Peck, a Hall County firefighter, for four years and has two beautiful daughters, Skyler and Peyton. Jenny's dad, Charles Craft, was a salesman for Patterson Dental Company and that is how she got interested in dental assisting. She attended Lanier Technical Institute and Gainesville College and is a certified dental assistant. Jenny has served as chairside assistant to Dr. Amy Huthwaite for twelve years and loves her patients like family. When she is not at work Jenny enjoys spending time with her family and friends and going to church.
Carole Ausborn, Dental Assistant
Carole has been assisting Dr. Lance Huthwaite for four years and takes pride in making sure her patients feel welcome and remain comfortable during their visits. She is married to Ken and she has two grown boys, Chris and John. Her hobbies include reading, swimming, and gardening.
Christy Waldrep, Hygiene Assistant
Christy has been working for the Huthwaite practice since 1998 as a hygiene assistant. She feels very fortunate to be trained in office for this specific job. She has been married to her wonderful husband, Ben, for 12 years now. They do not have kids, but they have a sweet, adorable miniature dachshund named Shadow. He is their twelve year old "baby". Christy's favorite hobbies are scrapbooking and spending time with her husband. They love to travel and their goal in life is to travel to all fifty states and then expand their horizons across the globe.
Jazmin Blakely, Insurance Coordinator
Born in Gainesville and raised in Elberton, Jazmin graduated from Elbert County High School. She attended Lanier Technical College graduating with honors from the dental assisting program. She has worked for Drs. Lance and Amy Huthwaite since 2004. Jazmin and her husband Patrick have two beautiful daughters, Zaria and Zoe, one handsome son, Patrick Jr.. Her family attends the Church of Nations in Athens, Georgia. Jazmin enjoys watching a good murder mystery on television and spending time with her family and friends.
Kim Escobar, Front Office Manager
Kim lives in Cumming, Georgia with her husband, Estevan, and her two children - Trevor, 14 and Olivia, 6. She came to work for the Huthwaite practice in 2004 after having been a patient herself for two years. She really enjoys all of the direct contact she has with patients and always looks forward to welcoming new patients to our office. Kim's hobbies include boating, music, and spending time with her family.
